District Seven is committed to providing the best possible resources to our Chapters. Here you will find a number of resources that the District Directors have created to assist the Chapters. Resources include items such as information on Tau Beta Pi's National Programs, required reporting, and monthly reminders from the Directors. Additional resources (available seasonally) include information presented at the Spring Conference and the Fall Meetings for those unable to attend those events or want to review items that were presented at these meetings. Available resources are listed below and can be viewed by clicking on the associated link or the links at the top of this page.
- Award Winners
- District Seven has a proud history of winning awards at the national level. The chapters in D7 routinely earn numerous Secretary's Commendations and Project Awards. In recent years, Chapters have also received Honorable Mentions for the R.C. Matthews Outstanding Chapter (Michigan Gamma in 1996 and 2006, Michigan Theta in 1996 and 2001, Ohio Gamma in 1999, Ohio Iota in 1999 and 2005) as well as the R.C. Matthews Award itself (Michigan Epsilin in 1999 and Ohio Iota in 2003). In 2006, our level of excellence (and the cost associated with the awards) caused Secretary-Treasurer Jim Froula to quip that he needed to fire some of the D7 Directors! In all seriousness, check out the awards page to check out some of the recent award winners.
- National Programs
- District Seven has compiled a list of all of the National Programs and Resources available to our Chapters. Programs are listed by their target audience and the level of participation required. This listing can be used during new member recruitment to illustrate many of the opprtunities members of Tau Beta Pi have available to them.
- Monthly Reminders
- The District Directors used to e-mail monthly reminders to Chapter Presidents. Instead, we've created a list of reminders that is automatically updated on the first of each month. Chapter Presidents and Corresponding Secretaries are encouraged to review the list monthly to ensure deadlines are being met and the Chapter is fully leveraging all of the resources available to them. Previous months' reminders are also available back to the beginning of the reporting cycle (July 1).
- Chapter Reporting
- Tau Beta Pi requires that Chapters submit a number of different reports to Headquarters each year. Most of these reports are completed online, but there are still a number of them that must be filled out on paper and mailed to Headquarters. Chapters that complete all of their paperwork on-time and accurately are elgible for a Secretary's Commendation. Use the District's reporting guide to ensure you are one of the Chapters that will receive a Secretary's Commendation!
