On March 22, 2003, the Executive Council of Tau Beta Pi approved our name change from the Detroit Alumnus Chapter to the Southeastern Michigan Alumnus Chapter. Our new name now better reflects the group of alumni we represent and the collegiate chapters that we assist. Congratulations to the officers and members who worked to bring this small, but important change about.
The mission of the Southeastern Michigan Alumnus Chapter is to uphold the principals and ideals of the Tau Beta Pi Association, advance the causes of the engineering profession, stimulate better student-alumnus relations, assist the metropolitan Detroit collegiate chapters, and provide opportunities for alumnus members to meet and discuss common interests.
